Yesterday and today the American Antitrust Institute (AAI) announced a call for entries for its AAI 2014 Antitrust Enforcement Awards and posted audio sessions from its 2014 Annual Conference on the theme of efficiency within antitrust analysis.
From the AAI (2014 Annual Conference sessions):
“Listen to panelists examine the concept of efficiency within antitrust analysis at the AAI Annual Conference which was held on June 19, 2014 in Washington DC. Panelists considered the nature of this concept, its influence and its limits, including critiques and whether certain inefficiencies currently excluded from consideration should be netted out. Five CLE credits were available to attendees. View all event materials and presentations in our Events section.”
From the AAI (Antitrust Enforcement Awards):
“The American Antitrust Institute invites legal practitioners and economists, to submit entries for the AAI 2014 Antitrust Enforcement Awards. Three award categories have been identified for 2014: (1) outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Private Law Practice; (2) outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement by a Young Lawyer; and (3) outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Economics.
Qualified nominations had to be for antitrust-focused litigation that was (a) initiated in or appealed in any U.S. state or federal court and (b) resulted (whether or not subject to appeal) in a final judgment, verdict, dismissal, conviction, injunction, order, or settlement between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014.
The award submission period ends on September 10. The awards will be presented at a gala dinner on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 following the AAI’s Annual Private Enforcement Conference. Entry forms and procedures are available here.”
